Description
This session on machining nickel alloy micro components will consider 5 key elements that can mean either consistency and success or constant struggles: cutting tools, speeds and feeds, strategies for tool paths, materials, and cutting fluids. Relevant material include: Alumel*, Alloy 52, Chromel*, Constantan, Inconnel 600, Inconnel 625, Inconnel X750. We will briefly discuss the differences in material and how that affects the machining parameters. *Alumel and Chromel are trade names for type K thermocouple materials and the exact composition may vary.
