Eleven individuals from ten PMPA member companies, along with PMPA's Executive Director Bernie Nagle and Director of Industry Research & Technology, Miles Free, made the trip to Washington D.C. last week to help bring our Industry's message to Capitol Hill. Group visits were coordinated by Omar Nashashibi and John Guzik of The Franklin Partnership, PMPA's lobbyists in Washington.
In one day, 10 Senate and 23 State Representative offices were visited. In the calls we made, we were pleased to hear that our officials and their staff understood the need for Comprehensive Tax Reform that includes pass-through entities.
The group collectively acknowledged the positive impact of last year’s action on the tax extenders: Bonus Depreciation, R&D, and Section 179 provisions. We also discussed the impact of regulatory agencies and proposals such as the EPA’s Power Plant Rule and Ground Level Ozone Proposal.
Thanks to all who attended, helping get our voices heard in Washington!
